I could keep making the hour round trip to Microcenter until I win the IPS lottery, but I think I'm learning towards keeping the Acer and just tolerating its shortcomings. I really want to like the Asus better but with the atrocious IPS glow, it's near impossible. Neither of these guys could figure out to put the buttons on the bottom?Īsus logo is reflective and more distracting than even the huge Predator logo on the Acer. A better option would be to let me assign it.īuttons on the back sucks for multi monitor setups. I get a hard button to change refresh rate but not input select? Seems silly. What am I supposed to do with this thing? Velcro it under my desk or throw it on the floor I guess.
Let's not kid ourselves the monitor is NOT that thin so unless they have some heat disappation problem I don't see the point. I didn't know this was a thing on high end monitors. The illuminated ROG logo is something I'd turn on once for a post on r/battlestations and then never again.Įxternal power supply. The Acer at 100% brightness isn't as bad as the Asus at 50%. IPS glow is annoying especially at the corners. Hard button for accessing aim point and refresh rate OSD functions.
Power LED is mounted on the bottom, very nice designīuttons feel solid. Out of the box settings are better looking Thin bottom bezel, doesn't stick out any more than the side bezels so it should sit flush against another display for a multi monitor setup. Why make overclocking the first option when you'll rarely touch it? OSD menu control is with a joystick, super easy. Multi monitor setups won't be able to sit flush.
